We started the day by greeting our donors announcing that we are celebrating Voluntary blood donors day in our department by displaying this year’s slogan "Atleast donate once in a lifetime" on our a/v display unit.pic1.A short talk was Given by one of our doctors to the assembled donors and their relatives on the benefits and importance of blood donation and how this simple activity has the capacity to benefit and touch the life of others.pic2.Subsequently we planned a visit for the donors to the thalassemia ward to see how their blood is sustaining lives of children all across Gujarat.pic3.We invited nursing staff to educate them about the Benefits of blood donation and separation & utilization of blood & blood components to enable them to spread and encourage voluntary blood donations amongst patients’ relatives and other paramedical staff of our hospital.pic4.A blood donation camp was organized in one of the engineering colleges nearby thus encouraging young donors to be a part of this celebration.Our team of doctors and paramedical staff was there to motivate these students and answer their queries regarding blood donation.90 percent of these students were first time donors.pic5
