Training is given on various aspects of voluntary blood donation & blood transfusion including the following topics:

  • Blood & its Components
  • Blood Groups & Cross Matching
  • Blood Storage
  • Need of Safe Blood & Blood Safety Measures

All the participants of the program are invited to interact to clarify their doubts & share their views & experiences.

Trainees are asked to answer the following questions after the training session:

  1. How did you like this program & what did you learn from it?
  2. What will be your future action plan in the field of voluntary blood donation?
  3. What will be your commitment from now onwards?
  4. What does voluntary blood donation mean to you?

All the participants are then taken to the blood bank to have a glimpse of all the activities being undertaken there like how the components are separated & stored, how the testing of blood is done & blood groups are cross matched. What are the procedures involved in issue of blood in case some one is in immediate need of blood. The visit of blood bank helps donor motivators & camp organizers to understand many things which in turn help them to recruit donors & motivate them effectively.

On analyzing the response from the participants, it has been found that such trainings are very useful and must for everybody related to voluntary blood donation & blood transfusion services.
